For the launch of the New Ford Mustang 2108, Ford wanted to give it the most personalised campaign ever, to match the car’s plussed up personalisation factor across its enhanced design, performance and technology.
AKQA where tasked to create an online campaign specifically designed to deliver an experience that would cater for the whole audience, from Mustang purists to those who are new to the Mustang tribe. I was asked to come in and work together with the broader team on this.
The response was an app that would enable the user to design their very own, one-of-a-kind Mustang pony within a Facebook experience. It allows the user to create a personal Pony based on a selection of current and heritage colourways - to changing the grill pattern through a responsive remix styler.
Once Designed, the custom pony is digitally served up to each individual loyalist everytime Mustang re-targets them online. Designs are then fabricated and sent out so they can be fastened to the grills of their own mustangs.
